Dylan Wiebe

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Certified Sports First Responder (SFR)

Trained Provider of the Shift Concussion Management Program

Dylan Wiebe is Registered Massage Therapist who grew up in Portage, Manitoba. While living on the prairies, Dylan had plenty of opportunity to play sports, specifically hockey in the winters and soccer in the summer. As Dylan started to develop into an athlete, he was successfully chosen to play AAA hockey for the Manitoba Panthers and Portage Terriers while later playing junior hockey for the Oakville Seals of the SEMHL. Apart from hockey, Dylan also was selected to play for Team Manitoba of the Manitoba Soccer Association and participated in the U-18 National Championship under the Canada Soccer Association.

Dylan unfortunately had to end his pursuit of playing hockey professionally after a career ending shoulder surgery in his late teens. He decided to travel the world while teaching ESL in countries such as Indonesia and Singapore while getting opportunities to continue his sporting expertise by playing for local hockey clubs that would travel around Southeast Asia competing amongst fellow expats. While Dylan thoroughly enjoyed his time in the tropics, his enthusiasm was to start a career where his passion in sport could be lived out everyday through his work.

As Dylan successfully became a Registered Massage Therapist in 2015, he immediately started using his new skills to enter back into the sporting world.

As to date, Dylan has been the Team Massage Therapist and/or Medical Lead for:

  • Vernon Minor Football Association 2018-Present
  • Canadian Para Alpine Team | 2016-2018
  • Canada’s Ballet Jörgen | February 2017 & 2019
  • Rhythmic Gymnastic Stars (Vernon) | Oct 2015 – Jan 2017
  • Winter Games Medical Team (Penticton, BC) February 2016 and February 2018 (Kamloops, BC)
  • BC Downhill Cup (Vernon, BC) | July 2015
  • Rugby Canada 7’s | July 2014

Dylan’s current education is as follows:

    • Diploma in Massage Therapy | Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy (OVCMT)
    • Certified Sports First Responder
    • Level I Shift Concussion Management Provider
    • Member of Registered Massage Therapists of BC (RMTBC) and Sport Med BC.

Most recently, Dylan has had a passion to treat athletes whom have experienced concussion in sport and therefore successfully became a Trained Provider of the Shift Concussion Management Program in October 2017.

Dylan continues to prove that his passion in sports streams through all facets of his practice and in early 2015, started the “Okanagan Athlete Sponsorship Program”. With this program, Dylan commits to working with one local athlete a year through massage therapy and strength and conditioning to help improve them as an athlete in their particular sport. As to date, Dylan has worked with bodybuilders, rhythmic gymnasts and golfers and will continue to work with local athletes and support sport in the local community.
